Incredulous, Apollo Apoca stared at the plot of land he was alloted in Glassbolt.
Live here? Where there was nothing more than a mailbox?
He was already starting to feel the effects of the radiation.
With the last of energy he could summon up, he stumbled onto the plot of land and called the builders.
He could afford a basic house.
In the next time, Apollo lived alone,
cooking fish he caught from the river.
There was nothing else people in Glassbolt could eat.
But Apollo was dedicated to changing that.
His efforts to learn all things gastronomic in the "Wonder Child" project would help him now.
After a while Apollo met his later wife Jenny.
It was not as if they were taking things slow.
Soon Jenny was pregnant.
And gave birth to a baby girl they named Hope.
Jenny fed Hope from her emaciated breasts.
The roles were clear.
Jenny took care of all things household...
... while Apollo provided food from the river
and also went teaching to cook fish at other people's homes.
"So it's fish again."
"Calm down, darling. It's all we have.
And it tastes good. You made it."
Jenny sometimes tried to find peace of mind during meditation...
Hope grew, a curious and bright child.
Having no access to clean running water in the shelter had its effects...
Reading and playing chess were the family pastimes.
For space reasons, Hope had no own bed, but slept on the sofa in the living room.
Apollo kept following his mission to bring the best food he could to the people.
Which was fish, fish, ... and fish.
Life wasn't easy...
... feeling uncomfortable was the common state of being.
Then Jenny got pregnant again.
The only one in the family who still kept optimism seemed to be Apollo.
Another baby girl was born.
They named her Solace.
Soon Solace was a child too.
Solace and Hope slept in their parents' bed when their parents were awake.
Like mother, like daughter.
Physically, Solace was a perfect copy of Jenny.
When her husband was out cooking for other people,
sometimes Jenny had to go out fishing to get food for her hungry daughters.
Life was tough...
With time they managed to build an upper floor to the shelter.
Left Solace, right Hope, eating grilled fish (what else?)
Hope grew a teen...
... and learned to fish like her father.
Family meal.
Homework.
Luckily, a few teachers kept teaching young sims the basics in a shelter.
Jenny was growing into an old woman.
Hope on the upper floor of the Apoca shelter.
The Apocas kept battling through dirt and misery...
But it was hard.
They installed a fireplace upstairs...
Alex kept cooking fish...
Jenny took up meditation...
Solace found solace playing with her toys...
Hope tried to wash herself as much as she could to stay halfway clean...
... and Alex slept a lot in his free time to escape the harsh reality.
Then Solace also grew a teen.
One day when meditating,
Jenny felt the life force leave her.
Soon after her mother's death, Hope was officially an adult.
And Alex took up his deceased wife's last hobby: meditation.
Then Alex also grew old and grey.
And the ghost of his dead wife haunted the house.
Hope started working as a journalist.
This is as far as we know from the Apocas.
Little has changed so far for the people in Glassbolt.
Maybe it's time to send another hero...
... maybe a female...
Miss Knight, make yourself ready...
